Fan Project and SSKTV Name Change?

[Please visit this post for information on how to donate.]

As Se Kyung's new drama When a Man Falls in Love is coming up in April, I wanted to gauge interest in doing a rice wreath to show our support for Se Kyung and the drama. A company called Dreame in Korea handles the rice wreath and delivery. The F1 Dreame is the most basic rice wreath. It includes 20 kg of rice and two ribbons (one for a cheer message and the other for the fan club's name). This rice wreath is priced at 100000 KRW (~92 USD). Any additional money raised would be put towards more rice. An additional 20 kg bag of rice is 60000 KRW (~55 USD). Any other suggestions for a fan project are certainly welcome. Furthermore, if anyone has any experience in organizing one; I would gladly welcome your input. Just leave a comment below if you're interested in participating. Update: We can bundle together with the wonderful fans over at the DC Inside SSK Gallery! I can create a PayPal for international fans and then send it to who's collecting the money there or they can create one for us.

In addition, I wanted to see if people where okay with changing the name from "ShinSeKyungTV" to "Shin Se Kyung International" since the focus has expanded beyond providing videos which has always been risky business anyways. I'm considering keeping the SSKTV name for YouTube and Dailymotion, but I'm worried that might cause some confusion as I'm trying to unify like-minded fans so any feedback on the name change would be greatly appreciated and other suggestions for a name change are also encouraged. I'll end up registering the domain name for whatever we end up choosing, so please contribute within the next couple of weeks.

Finally, I would like to apologize to all the OCD people out there. I only know a little bit of HTML/CSS, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix the tabs under the heading. When I try adjusting the padding, it ends up changing the margins instead, so I would appreciate it if anyone could take a look at the site's code and help troubleshoot.

  1. Hi A Doll's Dream,

Would like to show my support with regards to getting a rice wreath for SSK on her upcoming drama. I'm not sure about others but if you do setup a paypal account. I would be more than willing to provide donations.

As for changing of name. I'm not sure. When i came to know of Shin Se Kyung, this is the 1st Singapore Website i come across(after searching all over the net for a fansite which i can understand) Although im not sure if this is really based in Singapore, apologies if i'm wrong.

Anyway, my point being, I'm not exactly sure how huge this fanbase is but I really hope the name ShinSeKyungTV stays as it is. As long as we stay being true as a fan of SSK, be it international or not, more people will come to know of us and eventually it will turn into a international fansite.

Just my opinion. We can discuss this more if needed.

    1. Great! Thanks for offering to help with the donations. I think it would be better if one of the Korean fans sets up the PayPal for us so that there would be less transfer fees since there going to end up with the money anyways. I'll talk to them and see what we can arrange.

I am actually a US fan, but my goal was to appeal to everyone all over the world since it didn't seem like there was a dedicated international presence for Sekyung. Right now, most of the YouTube viewers are from Korea, and a large portion of the Twitter followers are also Korean. This was certainly unexpected for me, but I've been more than happy to accommodate Korean fans as well. Hence, I still upload many un-subtitled videos and try to do bilingual posts when I can.

The YouTube channel has around 560 subscribers so I posted a link to this blog post there. Many have visited this post from there according to the traffic data, but nobody has replied yet. So I would say the fanbase is kind of vague at the moment. Outside of Korea, I seem to be the only one contributing although I've had people help and contribute to subbing some of the videos. I started SSKTV about half a year ago; for most of which Sekyung has been on a hiatus. So hopefully we'll get more attention as her new drama begins airing.

As far as the name is concerned, a Twitter follower suggested the name "SSK White Lily" and keeping SSKTV for the video channel. "White Lily" sounds nice but I'm not sure of the significance of the flower. So for now, it's looking like we might just end up keeping the SSKTV name.

      Thanks for dropping by again!!

P.S. Here's a screenshot I took of the YouTube demographics about a week ago. http://twitpic.com/c54nmm
